FOBISIA Online Mathematics Competition 2021
Students will attempt to complete 3 rounds of challenges to earn: Bronze, Silver, or Gold status. The link and access code to this challenge will be shared with registered schools on Monday, October 4th, 2021.
Individual Challenge Rules
The test can be administered at any time between Monday, October 4th and Friday, October 8th. The link to the online form will be available on this website during this time period.
Equipment needed: Computer with internet connection and internet browser.
Students may have access to a pencil and scrap paper for workings out. NO other equipment or software may be used. (i.e. calculators, rulers, protractors, DESMOS, Excel, etc.)
If a computer/network fault occurs, pause the timer until the problem is fixed.
The challenge is strictly 1 hour and timed by a supervising teacher.
No marks will be deducted for wrong answers or for questions that are missed out.
No mathematical vocabulary can or will be read or explained to student participants.
A time will be displayed by the teacher and 15 and 5 minute warnings should be given.
It is not permitted for children to talk to one another, while taking part in the individual challenge. They must be spaced apart so as they cannot see other computer screens.
If necessary, this challenge can also be administered virtually. The teacher is still expected to monitor students during the challenge using a platform such as Zoom.
Marking will be done by the host school.
1 mark per correct answer.
Result and certificates will be announced on Friday, October 22nd.
